Hi Ian,
As much as I love KAP it has a nasty habit of making me pull my hair out on a frequent basis. Basically what happens is that while I am typing KAP pops-up an alarm which instantly gets dismissed because I am typing. This means whatever it was alerting me to do is lost.

My Preference settings are below. Can you tell me what I need to do to make the alarms stay on top until I choose to dismiss them please?

Hi Alessia

I just tried and no matter what I did the pop up note always stayed on top.
My settings are only slightly difference to yours.
The only difference I can see is I have the "Set Focus" option set to none.

I am probably using a later version than you though.

Can you please download the update from http://www.kirbyfooty.com/KirbyAlarmPro_Update_v5.01.zip and give it a try.

To install it just unzip the attached file into the kirby alarm pro folder.
Don't forget to exit KA before otherwise windows will complain the file is in use.

PS. Just had a thought. Maybe the program you are working on also has a setting to always stay on top.

Maybe the program you are working on also has a setting to always stay on top.

It happens in Firefox, Word, Notepad, Powerpoint, and EBP Flash Compta but even if these programs do stay on top shouldn't the alarm window still be available behind, as in having an icon in the task bar to access the alarm with? If not, surely minimizing all windows would reveal the alarm?

I'm going to test your update and get back to you after I find myself in a similar situation. Thanks for your fast reply Ian. Smiley

Good news: the pop-up note stays on top.
Bad news: when composing a message the window remains grey and will not respect the background preferences. Also, the "Enter a note" message keeps flashing on and off (not that it really bothers me but it never did that with v4.48).

p.s. what changes have been made in v5.01 please Ian?

Hi Alessia

Hmm, I do not have those problems.
The background colour in the preferences for new notes works ok so I am puzzled what it could be.

Sorry, but at this stage I do not know what is causing the problem.
Have you tried changing the default background colour for new alarms in the preferences?

With regard to the list of changes they are listed in alarmrevision.txt located in the kirby alarm pro folder or http://www.kirbyfooty.com/forum/index.php?topic=686.0

It works with background colors but only if you remove the path to the background image. It no longer works with background images.

Also, you have changed the calendar. It's not very important but I miss the monthly pictures that accompanied that. I had it set to show a different picture of my cats for each month. It's a shame there isn't an option to retain that.

Thanks for the tip about the background picture. I get the same result as you now.
I also get the same result as you with the calendar.

When I get some time I will have a look at both issues.

Also, the "Enter a note" message keeps flashing on and off

This is eliminated if you click in the message area so no big deal.
