Hi,
We had an email from one of our tippers with their tips selected. . the tipper also got a confirmation message.
The problem being, the tipper never emailed tips and we hadnt emailed out a tipping sheet for round 2.
Cant see anywhere in the admin menus how this has happened!
Help please!

Umm, I gotta be honest here. I have absolutely no idea on how to help.
The script on the web site that sends the confirmation tips email does not store ANY information at all. It would not be right for me to start doing that.
My suspicion is that someone was experimenting with the program at your end.
I'm sorry but I don't know what else it could have been.
Ian

Hi Ian
A question regarding the ReplyToName box.
Just a minor thing, but in previous years I have recorded the name of our footi tipping comp here, so that the various mails appear to come from the comp, rather than from me (and the name is too silly to repeat in an open forum!)
I have imported the email settings from last year, and the comp name appear there, but the emaisl I have sent so far only show my email address, with no comp name.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Ian
Thanks for doing this again.
I haven't been able to send any emails using the Internal Email Methods this year or last year, but I have previously used the Gmail method. This year, I'm having trouble with sending a bulk email. I can send a single email okay, but clicking on Send Bulk Email produces the following error message and won't let me into the screen. "Please set up the GMail email parameters first. The account name, or password have not been entered"
Account Name and Password are fine as proven by successful test emails and single emails. Any ideas?
Thanks Andy

Hi Andy Can you please confirm you are using the latest version. At the time of writing the current version is v9.05 (There was a bug in v9.04 with the email parameters when using the older methods) Ian

I downloaded it last night, Ian, so it will be v9.05. I can double check tonight though.

Hi Andy I think I have fixed the bug in v9.07 released today. To install the update just click on "Help/Check For Update" from the top menu bar in main screen of Kirby Footy. The update is very efficient and only downloads the bits that have changed! The rest is very self explanatory. You can see a short video on how easy it is to update to the latest version by going to http://www.kirbyfooty.com/forum/index.php?topic=483.0Sorry for the inconvenience Kind regards Ian Cook www.kirbyfooty.com

Thanks Ian. I can get into the bulk email screen now anyway. I'll test it tonight when I send out the tips summary for the round.

Thanks Ian!
I didnt expect an entire revision just for this (in fact, I had assumed it was something I was doing wrong!!). But seriously, it could have waited until you had some serious revisions to do (but thanks anyway)
Once again, another fine example of your "above and beyond" attitude to customer service!
Cheers
Phil
