Dear friends,

I have really enjoyed using Kirby Alarms, and find it works excellently for me, until today.? When I went to enter a new alarm, I found that instead of today's date and time, the date field was blank and the hour and minute fields were all zeros.? When I entered today's date and an hour ahead of the (then) current time, I got the message "Alarm Date must be within the valid date range."? I tried setting it for days ahead etc., but always the same message.? Any help?

Curious and a bit frustrated,

Bob

Hi Bob

How bizarre! I have not heard of that kind of problem before.

The following random thoughts come to mind..
(1) Is the date and time on you computer correct?
(2) Have you changed the regional settings for the date / time format in the control panel on your computer
(3) Have you tried exiting and restarting Kirby Alarm
(4) Have you tried restarting your computer

Are you able to upload a screen dump when you first click the "New Alarm" button (I have attached a sample of what comes up)

Ian

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the quick repy.? In response to your suggestions:

1) The date and time on my computer are correct.
2) I haven't changed the regional settings.
3) I've exited and restarted Kirby Alarm.? I've also uninstalled and reinstalled it.
4) I've restarted my computer.

The strange thing for me is that everything had been working fine for months.?

I've attached two screen shots in a single image.? The first is what it looks like when I open Kirby alarm, and the second the message I get when I try to enter a date and time.? (Note: these screen shots were taken on April 30th when that date and time were valid--in the future.? I didn't post them with my original message because I didn't see the upload feature until today.)?

I hope this is helpful in solving the problem.

Best regards,

Bob

Hmm, this is very strange.

Just to see if the problem is with the data files can you please try the following..
(1) Exit kirby alarm (right click on tray icon and select exit)
(2) Backup the kirby alarm pro folder to a thumb drive (or another folder or cd etc)
(3) Uninstall kirby alarm
(4) Delete the kirby alarm pro folder (
(5) Download and install v4.45 from http://www.kirbyfooty.com/downloadkirbyalarmpro.php
(6) Try adding an alarm
(7) Take a screen shot of what comes up when you add the new alarm. Is the date ok?

Assuming it is working ok, then we will try restoring the data files.
(1) Exit kirby alarm (right click on tray icon and select exit)
(2) Copy the data files to the kirby alarm pro folder. The data files have TPS as the extension (eg alarms.tps, alarmlog.tps)
(3) Restart kirby alarm
(4) Try adding an alarm
(5) Take a screen shot of what comes up when you add the new alarm. Is the date ok?
