Hi Alessia
Well at least there was some progress.

I will have to rethink a few things.

Thanks very much for trying it for me.

Kind regards

I should add that even though it gives this error on shutdown, as far as I can see, it does not lose any data.
As nobody else seems to be complaining about this problem it's likely that dieltjes and I have some app in common that is causing some kind of conflict. The hard part is knowing which one!

Yep, I couldn't agree more.
My suspicion is the anti spy ware program (some are over zealous) but I have no way of proving it.
Isolated problems like this are very hard to pin down.
None the less I will try a few more things and get back to you.

I can't speak for deltjes but I use 3 anti-spyware programs:
Webroot SpySweeper
Spybot Search & Destroy
Spyware Blaster

Don't know if that will help you or not?

I'm using Spybot S&D (not resident) and SpywareBlaster.

btw... I'm not having any problems since I stopped running KA as a service.

I stopped using it as a service long ago but I'm still having the problem. So now it seems I'm the only one. At least that rules out conflicts with anti-spyware software.

Hi Dieltjes
Thank you very much for the extra info

I would be interested to see if the beta version 4.45 fixed the problem running as a service
Would you be able to try it for me please?

To install it..
(1) Exit kirby alarm by right clicking on the tray icon and selecting exit
(2) Download and unzip the file from www.kirbyfooty.com/kabetav4_45.zip into the kirby alarm pro program folder (normally c:program fileskirby alarm pro) (Make sure you overwrite all files please)
(3) restart kirby alarm

I have used the 4.45 beta both as a startup and as a service and have not experienced any problems yet.
