In composing a mail notification, I discovered that KAP does not recognise keyboard input correctly. It appears to be able to work only with a US or UK keyboard. Internationally, each country has its own keyboard layout with characters in different places. I have never come across a program that did not automatically recognise the characters being used from the keyboard input however, in KAP's case it doesn't.

Would it be possible to correct this please Ian and perhaps launch a bug fixed v4.45?

Was not aware of that.
I will need some time to investigate it.

I'm not sure if this is the answer or not, but...

In the preferences section of Kirby Alarm you can set the application's font and script.

Perhaps changing the script to another type might work.
Could you try playing around with that please?

No, it's not that Ian. At least I don't think it is because the charset required is Western European (iso-8859-1/latin1). Your script option just says Western so if you have used Western European (windows-1252) then that would be the problem.

Here's a screenshot from the QT-Pro system showing a drop-down menu with all the different charsets available so that messages can be sent in any language whatsoever:

Hi

  • Did you try Central European?
  • Did you exit Kirby Alarm and then restart it after making the change?
