Author Topic: Kirby Alarm wont close at Windows/XP shutdown  (Read 3082 times)
« on: December 07, 2004, 12:11:56 PM »

I'm a registered Kirby Alarm user and I find it excellent, does just what I want it to do. Except shutdown! :-) I'm on XP SP2, but this also occurred on SP1a plus fixes. When I shutdown windows, instead of just shutting down, KA pops up a window asking me to shut the application first, with an 'OK' button. Press OK, then trying to click on the systray icon produces no response. What I have to do is wait until XP pops up the standard window saying that an appl is not responding, and click 'End Now'. Any ideas?

Ugghh, I hate wierd problems like this :?
Sorry to say but I have no idea what could be causing the problem.
I use windows xp all the time and have never had a problem.
Perhaps you would like to try the next version of Kirby Alarm. It is still in beta stage and is changing all the time, but maybe (just maybe) you may have better luck with it.
If you are interested please email me and I will send you the link.
Sorry I could not be of more help.

Ian, just wanted to say that the new beta version has been working fine since I installed it and so far, I've had none of the shutdown problems I had with the previous version....many thanks!
