Hello Ian,

Thank you for sharing your alarm software. I have enjoyed using it so far.

I have some problem sending an email. I am using Pegasus Mail (www.pmail.com). An alert pops up with the title "Error Starting Program" when an email is to be sent which states:

A required .DLL file, MAPISTUB.DLL, was not found.

This file is probably needed by Outlook to start up. Do you have to use Outlook as the mail client?

After that another alert box pops ups with the title "Critical Error Message" that states:

EXE, Batch File or PIF File Not Found: kemail.exe 2
Please notify technical support immediately!

Can you tell me what that message means? Can I run KirbyAlarm with Win98? Is my file corrupted?

Thank you for your support.

Hi Lizzy,
It sounds like you are getting Kirby Alarm to send the email using your email caient (ie Outlook).

Kirby Alarm has it's own built in email facility so you do NOT have to use your email client.
Just go to the preferences screen and untick the "Use Email Client" checkbox. (You will also need to set up the email server details for your internet service provider)

I did a quick google search about the error with MAPISTUB.DLL.
It sounds like the Mapi32.dll file is missing, damaged, or the wrong version. If the Mapi32.dll file is missing, the Mapistub.dll file is used instead.

Check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260970 for more details.

Yes, you can run kirby alarm on win98.

I hope this helps. If not please let me know.

Kind regards
Ian
