hi ian: brilliant program, i have now bought, been on the wait, wanted kirby and no other backup prog.

hi all: does anyone know what the command line for kirby.exe would be?
not sure if i am asking the right question.
i have 5  backups working, and i have noticed that even when the backups are not running, that the memory or cpu is, a lot of the time very high. and other times , when not running is very low.
so i thought, why not get kirby to switch itself on and off?

the other thing is that when kirby is running, my fine-working ziepod goes haywire.
and i really need ziepod to be running all the time.  ziepod.com

i do not know anything about command  lines, never having seen one or used one.
This is what is want to do:
i want kirby to start itself and stop itself.
and i am assuming that i need to know the 2 commands for that?

what do you think

Hi Alto

You have raised a few points.

Umm, there are no command line arguments for kirbyalarm. You just execute the exe.
Some of the advanced features in kirbyalarmpro (eg backup, email, ftp, say time, say message) do call kirbyutils.exe.
What happens is KirbyAlarm creates an xml file. It then calls KirbyUtils.exe and passes it the name of the xml file.
The xml file is deleted when kirbyutils has finished it's thing.

Sorry, this option is not available inside kirbyalarm.

I have never heard of ziepod so it is very difficult for me to advise.
When you say it "goes haywire" can you describe what happens a bit more please.

Kind regards
Ian
