Maybe I've missed something but how do I send out more than one e-mail message at a time:?:

Hi Jim,
Unfortunately you can only send one email per alarm.
You could of course copy the alarm, and modify the email address in eash alarm.
I am currenlty working on a 'PRO' version of Kirby Alarm that will allow multiple emails in each alarm so if you are interested please let me know.

Ian: The reason I'm interested in multiple e-mails is that I am VP of a rather large camera club of 625 members and responsible for all club communications. I would like to be able to send out multiple e-mails to the membership on meeting reminders, class times and messages from management. I hope that you will consider at least 400 messages in a batch in your new PRO version. I would definitely be interested in this product and will be happy to further enhance your cash-flow with a respectable donation.

Regards, Jim

Hi Jim,
Hmm, I wasn't planning on having a full blown mailing list program in kirby alarm.
I was thinking around just a 1000 character string with each email address seperated by a semi colon. That would give sufficient room for around 20 to 30 emails, but not 400.

For that many I would suggest you use a specialised email program.
for example Group Mail http://www.group-mail.com/asp/common/editions.asp?f=ds. I think there is a free version where you can send out 100 at a time.

The other possibility is to use an online email service such as dada mail (also free) http://mojo.skazat.com/.
This requires that you have a web host and sql server etc. But that is very cheap with the hosting service i use http://www.powweb.com/

Future Mail http://www.futuremail.com.au/ will also do it all for you. I know these guys personally (I used to work right next door to them) and that offer a good all in one solution that may suit. They are based in Perth, Western Australia.

Having said all that, I do have sufficient knowledge to create a mailing list program (if fact I guess you can even try it in the the other program I have written called Kirby Footy. You could enter all the people in your organization and their email address, and then use the bulk email facility)
You can download it fromhttp://www.kirbyfooty.com/html/download.html
If you found the bulk email option in Kirby Footy suited you then I'm sure we could work something out so it was a seperate mailing program that you could then call from Kirby Alarm if you wanted it to be completly automatic. I would be chargeable but I am willing to tailor it to suit your needs.

Anyways, food for thought.

Ian - I don't have trouble sending out 457 emails at once using Netscape Mail 7.2 but I'm so lazy that it would be nice if predated messages could go out automatically on a certain day.

I wanted to congratulate you on your KA - it is the most solid, uncomplicated and reliable program I have ever used and I've used more than twenty - all with irritating bugs.

I like your idea of being able to control those fonts and colors. Now, if I could just break myself of the habit of putting two or more messages at the same time so that the last message out covers the previous messages. (Some alarm programs I have used set the screen dispay in 6 or more messages boxes in different locations).

Thanks Jim.

Having the location of the pop up screen come up in a diferrent location so they do not overlap is definately on my to do list.
